The 3rd ELITE International Conference was successfully held at Universitas Islam Negeri Sultan Syarif Kasim (UIN Suska) Riau over two days, from January 9 to 10, 2016.
The conference carried the theme “Developing Curriculum, Teachers, and Instruction for Quality English Linguistics, Literature, and Education,” aiming to enhance curriculum development, teacher quality, and instructional methods in the fields of English linguistics, literature, and education.
This event was supported by the Regional English Language Office (RELO) of the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta, as part of efforts to strengthen the quality of English education in Indonesia.
The conference brought together academics, education practitioners, and language experts from various institutions, both domestic and international. Through discussions and research presentations, participants exchanged ideas and experiences to improve the quality of English language teaching and literature studies.
Dr. Hj. Like Raskova Octaberlina, M.ED, the President of the Association of English Lecturers under the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, expressed her enthusiasm about the event. “This conference is a crucial platform for educators and researchers to collaborate and share innovative approaches to English teaching. The focus on curriculum development and teacher training aligns perfectly with the needs of our educational system to produce highly qualified professionals,” she said.
