The 4th ELITE International Conference was successfully held at the State Islamic University (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, hosted by the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training. The annual event took place at Auditorium Harun Nasution on October 18-19, 2016, with the theme “Strengthening the Capacity of Research and Practices on English Linguistics, Literature and Education.”
 
The conference served as a platform for academics, researchers, and practitioners to share and discuss their latest research findings and ideas related to English linguistics, literature, and education. To ensure the dissemination of knowledge and ideas presented, participants were invited to submit written papers based on their presentations for publication in the printed proceedings.
 
Each submitted paper underwent a peer-review process conducted by a team of scholars, who assessed the suitability of the papers for publication. In line with the conference’s policy, papers were accepted or rejected in the form they were submitted, without further revisions following reviewers’ comments. Approximately 100 papers were accepted, reflecting a wide range of contributions from philosophical and conceptual discussions to practical issues in English education.
 
This collection of papers represents a significant advancement in the field, reinforcing the conference’s goal of strengthening research and practice capacities in English linguistics, literature, and education.
