The 7th ELITE International Conference was successfully held from September 7 to 9, 2019 at the State Islamic University of Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang (UIN Malang). The conference adopted the theme “Promoting Global Diversity, Partnership, and Prosperity Through English Development,” highlighting the vital role of English in fostering international collaboration and cultural understanding.
 
The event featured a distinguished lineup of speakers from Indonesia and abroad, including Dr. Bradley Horn, Head of the Regional English Language Office (RELO) at the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta; Prof. Dr. Arskal Salim GP, M.Ag, Director of Islamic Higher Education at Indonesia’s Ministry of Religious Affairs; and Prof. Dr. Abdul Haris, Rector of UIN Malang. Other notable speakers included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd. Nazri Latiff from the University of Sultan Zainal Abidin, Malaysia; Yuta Otake, MA, TESOL from Taiwan; and Sean Ryan, MA from the USA.
 
Throughout the three-day conference, participants engaged in insightful discussions on how English development can support global diversity, strengthen partnerships across nations, and contribute to shared prosperity. The event provided an invaluable platform for academics, educators, and practitioners to exchange ideas, share best practices, and explore innovative approaches in English language teaching and research.
